2016 Heartland 34ft Bunkhouse Travel Trailer for Sale

The ultimate family vacation escape plan!  Travel in style with the 2016 Heartland Trail Runner Model 30USBH, the bunkhouse model with separate rooms for parents and kids.  This is the two-bedroom model with a single slide-out.

This home on wheels has a wide-open floor plan, tons of convenience features like an electric jack stand and electric stabilizers, an exterior shower on the rear, a slide-out deck on the rear for carrying a generator (no generator included), a flat-screen TV and a console stereo with Bluetooth for the interior and exterior speakers, plus tons of storage space. I’ve made some nice upgrades as well that I’ll list below.

Let me show you the interior with this video:

Interior Walk-Through Video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zobk7X-8Elo

The interior is divided into different areas.  In the front of the trailer, you have a master bedroom with a queen mattress (and a really nice memory foam topper).   There are overhead and side cabinets and a really large storage area under the bed as well.  Close the sliding doors and rotate the TV around to make your own private space.

In the rear of the trailer is the bunkhouse room, with 4 separate bunks.  On the driver’s side, the bottom bunk is made with a table that can be set up to make a really cool office space, the overhead bunk folds up and away making a nice area with two seats across from each other.  There is a huge storage area under the other bed that is also accessible from an exterior hatch.  The bunkhouse has a sliding door so you can put the kids to bed or close the door to make a work area during the day.  We love having a dedicated bunk for each kid so they can keep their stuff in their own place out of the way of others.

.

The bathroom has an RV flush toilet, a countertop with a vanity sink, and a tub/shower combo.  The skylight over the shower provides extra standing room.  I’m 6’4 and I can comfortably take a shower here.  The tub is ideal if you have little ones that you want to bathe at night.  You’ll also notice on the wall there are meters for the battery, and the freshwater, black water, and gray water tanks.  There are also switches mounted here to turn on the electric water pump if you’re not staying at a campground with city water, and there are switches for the water heater to run on either gas or electric.

.

The main area provides a large space for gathering.  The dinette table has a wraparound bench and room for the whole family.   The dinette faces the open kitchen so there is a lot of space to prepare meals together and move about freely.  Next to this is a full-size couch so there are lots of comfortable places to sit and be together, or to potentially watch a movie on the TV.

.

Because there are so many beds we never folded down the dinette table to make a sleeping space, but it is available if you need it, as well as a fold-flat couch.  I can’t tell you how nice it is to not have everyone’s blankets and pillows in the main area of the trailer.  It just feels uncluttered compared to more cramped models.

.

For comfort, there is an overhead air conditioning system with a standard wall thermostat.  I upgraded the air conditioner and added a soft-start system, this makes it last longer and it can work even on lower voltage campsites.  For heating, the furnace delivers air throughout the trailer via floor vents, and it really works great.

.

List of Upgrades:

LevelPro+ System – This allows you to check if your trailer is level with a Bluetooth app on your phone.

Jack-It Bike Carrier – This is a fancy bike carrier above the propane tanks.  It’s a safer way

King WiFiMax Pro – I use this router / range extender to connect to boost the wifi from campsites.

SoftStartRV – This device attaches to the air conditioner and slowly ramps up the power so that you don’t overload a generator or trip a breaker.    This is a great addition if you plan to run the air conditioner of a 2200 watt generator.

New Tires – This has 4 new tires and a new spare from Summer 2021.

New Microwave and refrigerator compressor – This was a warranty repair, I just barely replaced the microwave so it has never been used.

Stromberg Carlson RV Ladder Clothesline – This is a super convenient way to hang your towels up to dry.  It attaches to the back of the trailer right next to the outdoor shower.

Upgraded Outdoor Speakers – I added new marine speakers on the exterior of the trailer.

RV Lock Upgrade – Digital keypad and a remote for unlocking the door in addition to a traditional key.

.

Sleeping Accommodations:

Master Bedroom - has a queen size bed.

Rear Bunkhouse - 4 separate bunks.  One bunk has a custom mattress that was added for when another adult is traveling with us.  The others are slimmer mattresses that have worked great for our kids.

Dinette bed - This makes a huge space for sleeping.

Fold flat couch bed - This super comfy couch folds out to make a really comfy sleeping spot.

This is the perfect trailer for longer road trips.   We’ve owned this trailer since 2018 and we’ve toured California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and Arizona.  We’re selling it because we’re planning other adventures now, but we’ll be sad to see it go!

Scanning Photos in Bulk - Using AutoSplitter to Help

I've been scanning family photo albums and one challenge I run into is how to do this as quickly as possible.  I also wondered if there was a way to do it without having to unglue the pictures from their pages.

Autosplitter helps speed things up.  Let's say you scan a whole page of photos at once, well Autosplitter identifies the white space between them and then cuts the photos into their individual files.  It lets you review the images too in case you need to make a correction.

https://autosplitter.com/  Cost me I think $20 when I downloaded it in April 2020.  I'll add more photos in the future, but this is a tool worth adding if you're looking to save time.

iPhone Videos are missing audio when imported to Premiere Pro - fix options

So we shot some video today using the iPhone X and the app Hylerlapse, but when I tried bringing the video file into Premiere Pro CC 2018, the audio isn't there.

A quick perusal of the web yielded the most popular solutions.  These options showed promise but they didn't work for me.  Maybe they would work for your situation.

Tricks that didn't work for me:
1.  Select "New Sequence from Clip" in Premiere Pro (like this guy says to do)
2.  Change the file extension from .mov to .mp3 by renaming the file, then import it (like this guy says will work)

So for me, the only solution that does work is to convert the .mov file to an .mp4 using a conversion tool.  For some reason I can't do this with Adobe Media Encoder, go figure, so I looked for a few alternatives.

There are a lot of video conversion tools out there, but the one that I chose is Wondershare Uniconverter.  It cost me real money, $70 for a lifetime license, so this is a solution for the individual that plans on doing this repeatedly.

One weird thing to note, Uniconverter didn't recognize the orientation from the phone video, so my stuff showed up upside-down.  That's okay because I'm taking these into Premiere Pro to lighten the vids up and rotation is super easy to do, but it did catch me off-guard when I saw this the first time.

Excel: Quick way to check if a cell begins with a value

For this exercise, I wanted to make a pivot table to help me summarize my orders by product type.  I had a single column with the Product Name, but sometimes a product is included in a bundle so I wanted to create a column for each product and put a 1 or a 0 in the column if that item was included in that sale bundle.

Let's same the product names are:
Creative Lettering Journal
The Guide to Mindful Lettering
Ultimate Lettering Bundle (This has both the Lettering Journal and the Guide)

Since the first three letters of each product are distinct I can use those to differentiate each.  Assume the Product Name is in Column A.  In the column where I'm tallying the Creative Lettering Journals I use the following formula:

formula =IF(Left(A2,3)="Cre",1,if(Left(A2,3)="Ult",1,0))

Now I have a single column that tells me exactly how many Creative Lettering Journals were sold.

Excel: Create an Option List in a cell

Here's how to create an option set for a cell in Excel 2016.

So I have a form I'm creating and I want to limit the optional values in one column.  Here's a simple description of what I'm putting together.

The Column Name is "Status".  I want to make a limit the options for this cell instead of having it be filled in with any number of values.  If I can get consist data entry in this field I can then use it to filter the table or to pivot the data for further analysis.

Here are the options I want to make available:
  • Potential Buy
  • New Purchase
  • In Rehab
  • Listed
  • Pending
  • Sold
So, here's the step by step.

1. Create the options list on a separate page from your working doc
2. Select the cells that you want to use the option list
3. Go to the Data menu and click Validation
4. In the Validation Window select "List" from the Allow menu
5. Click the Source box and select the cells that show the options you want to use

Excel: Change a cell format to add text after a Number

Microsoft: Create a Custom Number Format

From Microsoft:
Display both text and numbers    To display both text and numbers in a cell, enclose the text characters in double quotation marks (" ") or precede a single character with a backslash (\). Include the characters in the appropriate section of the format codes. For example, type the format $0.00" Surplus";$-0.00" Shortage" to display a positive amount as "$125.74 Surplus" and a negative amount as "$-125.74 Shortage." Note that there is one space character before both "Surplus" and "Shortage" in each code section.

So I selected format Category "Custom", then in the Type field I typed " minutes" right after the 0.00.  That did the trick!
